Our gazes met; blue fire sparkled in his eyes, promising scorching sex. The urge to strip off his clothes and ravage his body battled with the desire to make him work for it...and a hint of insecurity. Okay. More than a hint of insecurity. Three years without sex with only a BOB for practice meant rust around the hinges. Maybe I'd suck at sex, and he'd never want another session with me again. Well, at least I'd have one.
"A badge for good behavior and maybe a little extra, depending." I grinned.
"On what?"
"My mood."
"Perhaps I can influence your mood in my favor," he said and leaned over to capture my lips in a kiss that, if physically possible, would straighten my wavy, red hair.
"Mmm...I think that perhaps you could." I pushed away from him. That mischievous, slightly wicked side of me bubbled up. "I've considered giving you a private dance lesson before we go out tonight, but I'm not sure if it would help." I stood and moved inside. He followed me.
The heat of his gaze nearly burned a hole in my clothes. This kind of power over a man inspired ideas of how to tease him until he fell to his knees and begged for release. With effort, I refrained from rubbing my hands together and giving into the naughty impulses. A little bit of teasing created interest. Too much was mean.
Music filled the bungalow. I turned to find Brandon a few feet from me with an I- dare-you look on his face. Now that the time had arrived, indecision raced through me. Should I start now or wait until tonight? I might as well cluck, grow feathers, and change my name to Chicken Bauer. All my courage sailed out to sea until he started to dance. Oh, my God!
Despite my best efforts, a snort of laughter burst out of me. A two-year-old danced with more coordination. Scratch that. A geriatric patient in a wheel chair would beat him in a dancing competition. Please don't let this be a sign of what was to come. That last thought sobered me. But he's a good swimmer. He must have rhythm. Please let him have rhythm...and good hands...and...
He grabbed me around the waist, and my thoughts stalled.
"You dare laugh at me, woman?" The potent combination of humor and passion glinted in his eyes.
All my fears melted away, and before they returned, I kissed him.
