She moved so quietly upon her return to the room that I only noticed her en route due to catching her movements out of the corner of my eye. Once I saw her my heart nearly stopped, my lungs locked amid a breath, and my eyes would not dare to blink. Her black hair caught the lights from the city and sent out sparks as she moved. Her full-length nightgown went beyond sheer, beyond gossamer. Her body, lithe elegance. Her movements, catlike. She practically floated to my side. Her fair skin, artistic perfection. Not a mark, a mole, or even a hair anywhere to interrupt her creamy beauty.

She sat on the arm of my chair and ran her hand down the side of my face, and it came to rest on my shoulder. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long.”

I actually trembled under her touch. She gently squeezed my shoulder, and my heart restarted, my breath flowed again, and my eyes fluttered to catch up on their blinking.

“I was enjoying the view. I didn’t think it could be improved upon, but you proved me wrong.” That sounded good.
